What is Digital Dictation?

This post is designed to give you a general background into Digital Dictation, what is Digital Dictation, what are the benefits of Digital Dictation and how do the individual systems work together to form what we know today as a Digital System.

Digital Dictation is essentially the method of recording ones voice via a Digital Voice Recorder. In the past voice recordings where recorded on analogue tape devices commonly known as Dictaphones. There where many different varients of these devices, mainly Standard Cassette, Mini Cassette and Micro Cassettes, the main difference being the size of the actual cassette / tape used.
